Laitwood Poker Gaming Platform

Laitwood Technology has developed a sophisticated fully featured multiplayer Internet based gaming environment supporting different types of poker play including the most popular (Hold’em) which represents 80-90% of all online poker played. The product consists of the following sub-systems:

Gaming Server

The gaming server provides socket based connection for multiple clients and runs load balanced instances of each available type of poker game. Each client has a dedicated handler on the server that deals with all communication with the client. The server contains sophisticated handling and synchronisation technology to deal with network disconnection and client loss and prevents any loss of chips for the end-user. In addition, the server logs all gameplay to the database and has the ability to recover appropriately in the unlikely event of server failure. Gaming is driven by a simple rules engine so that adding new types of poker is relatively straightforward. The server also maintains numerous statistics on performance, game rates etc.

Website Framework

A full set of poker related content is provided in an easily re-branded web-site interface allowing very rapid deployment of the system to new operators. The client can be deployed within an operators own site, or on a rebranded hosted site hosted by us. The two client interfaces consist of a Lobby where users can view information about current games and a table interface for each type of table. The Table interface is presented to the user in its own window so that users can observe many tables at the same time.

Reporting System

Suitably authorised users can navigate the database to examine details of users, games played, betting, balances etc. Users can browse their own games and can also view their account statement. Each day, the users balance is recorded so that the statement shows a daily balance within any given month.

Payment System

This component provides support for financial transactions between the player and the operator. Players may make deposits up to pre-defined limits, request withdrawal – this must be authorised by administrative staff, and can result in either debiting of credit card or cheque issuance. The system also supports notional purchase and cashing of chips as well as intra-game accounting.

User Profiler

Information is recorded about user activity both on the website and within the game client. Most importantly, this system is responsible for correlation calculations which provide collusion protection. The profiler also supports further extension of customer profiling through participation in special events and promotions.

Security System

This system provides for encryption of game message data as well as authentication of the hosting website. It also provides for secure transmission of financial transaction related data between player and operator or between the operator and partner financial institutions.
